For All Middle School and High School Orchestra Families:
Every year the orchestra students love coming together at the beginning of the school year for a weekend filled with team building activities, eating, and fun. Our students go home exhausted but happy and ready to start the school year with their fellow students. This weekend tradition has been named Wombat Weekend.
This year our wonderful Wombat Weekend experience will be held at Chatfield State Park from 1:00 p.m. on Saturday September 26, to 11:30 the following day, Sunday the 27th. We will be at Group Campsites G & H.
Our students need our help to make this be a successful experience. We will need volunteers to donate food, chaperone or drive our students, and let us borrow camping equipment.
Please deliver your students and any camping/food supplies to the park entrance on Roxborough Park Road, where volunteers will shuttle them to the campsite so that each family does not have to pay the park fees. Pickup on Sunday will be from the entrance as well. Families who are not able to get to Chatfield that weekend should arrange for transportation from DSA by emailing Sue Rudoff, sue@rudoff.com. We look forward to a great time!

Complete Forms for off-campus activities
Please note the Power of Attorney and Consent for Emergency Care forms, and a copy of the medical insurance card must be completed and turned in for each student before they can attend Wombat Weekend or any off-campus overnight trip/event, even those events where parents are in attendance. The Power of Attorney form requires both parents to sign and is required to be notarized. You may find a notary at your local bank, or you may contact either Tracy Holt in the main office or Linda Vliet in the counseling office and ask if they can notarize for you. Both parents must be present to sign if not already completed. Please date both forms for the entire school year so you only have to do this once. Otherwise you have to complete both for all trips/events. These forms are available on the DSAO website (Click Here). Completed forms can be turned into the “forms” box that will be in the orchestra room once school starts.
If your student takes ANY medication, or has a medical condition, you MUST contact the Amy Robinson, the school nurse asap to complete more forms.
